MOVES Mobile Veterinary Specialists is the premier provider for mobile veterinary services across the United States. With specialists in Veterinary Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Cardiology, MOVES serves nearly 7,000 clinics nationwide, and nearly 20,000 patients per year.
At Masterwork Software, our team is a deeply integrated partner to the MOVES organization, administering a significant portion of the company’s ongoing IT needs, as well as all of the custom design and app development services for their centerpiece web application. Our work includes:
- Refactoring legacy code to be more secure and performant

In partnership with GIS1, a family and veteran-owned Georgia-based company that provides professional GIS services to over 38 counties across the state, we developed the Georgia GIS Clearinghouse. This web platform provides quick and easy access to a wide variety of GIS related data across the state, including Aerial Photos, Parcel Lines, CAMA (Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal) Data, Road Centerlines, Address Points, Landlots and Militia Districts, and the premier product, statewide 1-foot contour lines. A wide variety of industries and professionals, such as construction, surveyors, engineers, architects, landscape architects, real estate, and government agencies rely on data acquired from the Clearinghouse on a daily basis to perform their work.
Our team at Masterwork Software is solely responsible for the design and execution of the Clearinghouse platform, including the following technical accomplishments:
- Developing a custom integration with Google Maps and HERE Maps cloud services to provide an original and custom data selection interface
- Architecting and developing a custom data processing API to efficiently store, access, package, and deliver data to customers
- Planning and developing automated data management pipelines to ensure that data on the site is constantly up-to-date with the latest changes from GIS1

Where the Georgia GIS Clearinghouse is customized to the needs and data used in Georgia government agencies and businesses, USA Contours expands the Georgia GIS Clearinghouse’s premier 1-foot contour lines product to the entire country, offering the same top-shelf quality data to surveyors, engineers, and architects from coast-to-coast.
Our team at Masterwork Software is again solely responsible for the design and execution of the USA Contours platform, including the following technical achievements:
- Architecting and developing appropriate backwards-compatible adaptations to the existing Clearinghouse platform to serve this separate and broader use case
- Architecting and developing custom GIS data processing scripts and pipelines to more quickly and efficiently transform source LiDAR data to the final 1-foot contour line data
- Developing and synthesizing custom data layers that serve to keep data files organized and easily accessible for the entire country, accounting for differences in the organization of counties and equivalent jurisdictions across all 50 states
